POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Director will work in close partnership with the VP of Culture and Development to help shape and execute a scalable HR roadmap to support growth initiatives, manage through change, and enhance overall company performance. They will act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team ensuring they have the information and resources needed to be successful at delivering enlightened hospitality.

The HR Director will possess the tactical skills and ability to shift focus and hands on attention across recruiting, performance management, payroll & benefits, compensation, safety, legal, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a high aptitude for building and learning new systems and will leverage their experience leading technology and processes improvements in alignment with the company’s mission and values.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Define and track HR measures of success and make accessible regularly for key stakeholders in the company to better run the business
  • Support the high-performance culture of open and proactive communications so that every team member has the necessary information needed to perform
  • Foster commitment to diversity, team building and development at all levels
  • Continually evaluate and enhancethe utilization of technology to improve day to day foundational HR systems
  • Oversee management of facility and office services to achieve operational efficiency in support of meeting business objectives

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Manage a team of HR professionals through a servant leadership approach and create a team and structure that fits the growing needs of the business
  • Provide mentorship, succession plans, and career and personal development programs to ensure optimal team performance and long-term retention

RECRUITMENT/TALENT

  • Establish a strategy regarding talent acquisition, talent development, succession planning, and retention strategies.
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment practices and processes necessary to attract and recruit top talent
  • Develop and implement strategic staffing plans to ensure an ongoing pipeline of highly qualified talent for key positions

COMPLIANCE

  • Establish and implement safety practices as to enhance the safety of employees and protect company assets
  • Interpret policies and procedures and provide guidance to managers and employees to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, state and local legislative requirements as it relates to employment and employee information
  • Work closely with the leadership team to assess and reduce legal risk and liability. Ensure compliance with all aspects of employment law

PROGRAMS/BENEFITS

  • Establish and maintain market-based and industry-based best practice processes for setting total rewards philosophy (compensation, benefits, incentives and rewards)
  • Champion the rollout of HR programs and applications and provide subject matter expertise to employees and managers – areas may include performance management, benefits, time and pay
  • Manage annual programs including employee surveys, performance management, and compensation programs

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS degree is required. SHRM or other advanced certification and continuing education preferred
  • 5+ years of Director-level, multi-state HR experience
  • Multi-unit foodservice or hospitality environment experience required (15+ units)
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team of HR professionals
  • Tech savvy with experience introducing new technology and platforms
  • Experience building a rudimentary HR system and scaling for growth
  • Experience guiding strategically led recruitment
  • Proficient in coaching, counseling and advising on highly sensitive, confidential or complex employee relations matters
  • Knowledge of current HR regulations, legal compliance and policy compliance
  • Exemplary customer service and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead remote teams
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and EZ Labor preferred, not required
