Noto Group is proud to be partnering with The American Alpine Club (AAC), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose vision is a united community of competent climbers and healthy climbing landscapes. The AAC has been awarded the pro bono search as part of Noto Group’s annual “Search for Social Good” campaign.
After seven years with the AAC, Penn Burris will be moving on from the Operations Director position. Through Noto Group, the Club expects to find an extraordinary candidate to fill the role. Burris will remain in his position through the transition.
“Penn Burris has been a key part of an exciting time at the American Alpine Club,” said Executive Director Phil Powers. “He was a key part of adding three properties—the Hueco Rock Ranch, the New River Gorge Campground, and the soon-to-open Gunks Campground—to our lodging portfolio and has kept the office operating smoothly through a period of substantial change: 70% growth in the last three years.”
“Each year, as part of our mission to be connected to the greater good, the team at Noto Group identifies a worthy nonprofit to assist in filling an executive-level opening on a pro bono basis,” said Roy Notowitz, Managing Director of Noto Group. “We are a longtime supporter of the outdoor industry and are honored to be working with the American Alpine Club to find an operational and financial leader to support the organization’s continued growth.”
“We are extremely pleased to be partnered with the Noto Group,” Powers said. “They bring rigor and experience to a search that is extremely important to our efforts to focus clearly on our mission to support our shared passion for climbing and respect for the places we climb.”
